This weekend I felt compelled to post about Joel Osteen's church and the flooding in Houston. My post is below:
On Joel Osteen...We must be vigilant and mindful of how the enemy works. I can see why so many expected Joel Osteen to open his doors. However, Joel Osteen is still just a man. Yes, he is a man of GOD but he is still a man. Is he wrong for not opening his doors, that is a matter of opinion and we've seen and heard many on both sides. What I do know is that the enemy is having a field day with all of this coming against him. If you think Joel Osteen was wrong to not open his doors then leave it at that, when you make it about the Church, or the body of Christ not opening its doors, that is the work of the enemy. He wants us to come against GOD. He also wants you to criticize the blessings of the believers. Now all you see are memes all over the internet mocking a man who has a church membership of 17,000.
I would also challenge you to ask yourself: When was the last time you opened your doors? You and I can do the work of GOD and how often do we when it inconveniences us? Have you opened your doors to the homeless? Yes, you may have or maybe you didn't. The point is: When you come against the body of Christ for things that you probably haven't even done yourself, know that the enemy is pleased. This is a time for prayer, not a time to be pointing the finger at anyone, especially a leader of a church! Know your enemy!
In this video, Joel addresses the misinformation being spread all over the internet about his church. The biggest messages from this video are sure to inspire. First, we will not get to our destinies without opposition. Secondly, there are more forces for your good than there are agains you. Be encouraged and Be Empowered.
